May 27th Newsletter!

Hello all! Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day! I know we did! We were hopping at the shop but also had some wonderful family time! Now on with the newsletter! Susie and I have some exciting news

to share with you all! Tracy, one of our consigners, is opening her own shop! “The Little Shabby Shed” will be opening this weekend! While we are sad to be losing Tracy, and so excited for her, Tracy is not going far! “The Little Shabby Shed” is opening in the two story barn building

in front of Suzanna’s Antiques! As many of you know Tracy’s style is wonderful! Great whites, pinks, yellows, greens, and blues

all put together with that special something that just makes it so unique! She creates some of the cutest items and has such a great knack of displaying things. Shutters, pink dressing tables, blue floors, green walls…

just come and see how adorable it all is!

Since Tracy is moving out, we are pleased to announce that we will be bringing in two new vendors. Nancy Creagh, whom many of you already know, will be having her own booth, and Arleen and Joseph Sellek will be opening a new booth right in Suzanna’s! We are very excited to bring you both of these dealers! They will be setting up next week so look for more information to be headed your way! As you know, with all these things going on, there will be lots of movement at the shop! Susie already has some great ideas for bringing you new arrangements, decorating ideas and items for your home!

Treasures will be unearthed, markdowns will be taken and a whole new look will encompass the shop! Next to Tracy’s new building, look for Phillip of “Remember When Antiques” in Oxford to be setting up and showcasing some of his outdoor buildings in the coming weeks.

You can use these as potting sheds, outdoor rooms…whatever your heart desires! They are built almost entirely of reclaimed lumber, old windows and are so amazing! Lots of fun new stuff for you to see! If you are going out of town be sure to bring your laptop, so you can stay tuned in with Suzanna’s for the Grand Opening Announcement,

because of course we will be open one evening for cocktails and shopping! Since Suzanna’s Antiques can’t grow any bigger in our building we are bringing in new shopping experiences for you! Let us know what you want next and we will work on it!!

Thanks

Susie, Jenny and the Girls!

Memorial Day Weekend Sale!

Hello!! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We will be open on Memorial Day so bring any family and friends you may have visiting, into the shop, so they too can enjoy the best little Antique shop in Raleigh! We are looking forward to a great summer here at Suzanna’s and to start it off with a bang, this weekend we are having an anniversary sale! That’s right! May marks the third year that Suzanna’s Antiques has been open and the one year anniversary of the Suzanna’s Antiques Dealer Wing. Hard to believe that three short years ago Suzanna’s Antiques was a lawn mower repair shop that Susie and Anna,

along with family and friends, spent many hours cleaning up! We’ve come a long way baby!! From operating just the office and one garage door bay, to taking over the second bay and then adding on the new wing last year, we are constantly growing and changing. We now have 10 dealers, between 30 to 40 consigners and are always on the look out for new and exciting people to bring into the shop! To celebrate all your support through the years, Suzanna’s is offering 30% off any Suzanna’s Antiques merchandise! The dealers are offering 10% off in their booths! The sale will run Saturday through Wednesday! So you have until Wednesday to get the great item you have had your eye on! What a wonderful “Thank You” to all of our loyal customers! We hope to keep you coming back for many more years! There are so many deals to be had both inside and outside the shop! Come see what you can’t live with out! After shopping with us, stop by Sam’s Country porch just in front of the shop and pick up some yummy corn on the cob or some fresh tomatoes for your family cook out! All of Sam’s vegetables are locally grown and he has wonderful prices! If you are looking for some other fun things to do this weekend, in addition to antiquing at Suzanna’s, check out "An American Celebration" at Koka Booth Amphitheater Saturday night May 23rd starting at 7:30 pm. Enjoy a wonderful concert night for the family. Kids 12 and under are free! Happy Wednesday! Hope you are all having a great week and enjoying this amazing weather! What a wonderful time to head to Suzanna’s! The shop is brimming with beautiful items for your home and yard! Suzanna’s Antiques is the ultimate in green living! Instead of buying new furniture without any history or character, come to Suzanna’s and buy a dresser that might have a great story! If it doesn’t Linda will make one up on the spot for you!! Hehehe! Or if you are building an outdoor pergola or gazebo, we have plenty of unusual and unique pieces you can use! There are columns and posts from old houses that have been torn down, great metal pieces to use across the front or sides, shutters you can turn into window boxes or even doors and windows that can be used however you want! The only limit is your imagination! Tracey brought in a great yellow tall cabinet perfect for storage in a kitchen, bedroom or craft room, and a cute pegboard unit that would be wonderful on a porch for gardening equipment! Gary and Teresa have a cute little ice cream set in white that is new to the yard this week, and a fun red wicker planter in their booth! Susie even brought in some fun metal boxes and baskets that would look great with your vegetable garden planted in them! Linda has a cute little green table and some beautiful artwork available in her booth along with some cute new vintage inspired aprons for mom or child! Our consigners have been hard at work bringing in new jewelry, game boards and glass wear for anywhere in your home! Come see what’s new! This weekend is full of fun things to do! Franklin County is having their 6th Annual Farm Tour with foods and crafts! Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th from 11:00 am til 5:00 pm there are farm tours available, a youth fishing rodeo, a photography contest and many other fun activities for you and your family to enjoy! Saturday from 10 to 4 rain or shine, learn about different breeds, different coops and what it takes to keep chickens an urban environment! Once you see how fun and easy it is, come to Suzanna’s and we can put you in contact with some coop builders and we’ll even check with Anna to see if she has a new set of hatchlings to start your own chicken coop! Talk about going green! We are in the process of updating our friend’s page on the Suzanna’s Antiques website. If you are interested in having your information on our site, please email me back what your business is and your contact information. We have everything from “Bruce’s Gutter Cleaning” at 919-435-7862 to Linda Doyle with Dream Decorating at 919-621-3425! We have Mary Kay, Avon, and Arbonne representatives, insurance people, upholstery, and cupcakes!! Whatever service you offer, let us know and we will try and include it! Sam of Sam’s Country Porch, here next to Suzanna’s Antiques, continues to bring in new vegetables and gorgeous plants weekly. Strawberries seem to be the most popular this week! See you at Suzanna’s!! Susie, Jenny and the Girls!

Pink Saturday Mother's Day Weekend!

Happy Pink Saturday Mother's Day Weekend !! Come and find what you can't live with out, or what Mom can't live without!! But most importantly bring mom by Suzanna's and spend some time with her reminiscing about items she may have had in the past. Or items she remembers from her childhood! The most important thing is just to spend time with your mom!

Working with my mom at the shop is awesome! I am so lucky to be able to do something we both love together!

Love you Mom!

For Mother's Day!

Hello from Suzanna’s Antiques! Welcome to May! Hopefully all of you are ready for Mother’s Day this weekend. If not, head to Suzanna’s Antiques. We have gift certificates available in any denomination you need! Why not get Mom a great vintage purse to put the certificate in, or wrap it in a cute antique hanky or pin a great brooch onto it! Then bring her over to Suzanna’s on Sunday and spend some time helping her pick out that special item. What a great Mother’s Day! Susie and I spent some time this week in Warrenton, so there are lots of great new items in the shop. We found some cute vintage card games, some beautiful pictures and wonderful books all for your shopping pleasure! There are also some new dress forms, a fun old banana stand and an awesome metal shelf with baskets! On our travels we also stopped into a new shop right here in Raleigh. “Affordable Chic” is on the corner of Creedmoor Road and Lynn Road in the Hidden Valley Shopping center behind the gas station! This is a very cute shop with an eclectic mix of vendors with everything from monogrammed bags to antique wingback chairs. Please stop in and say “Hi” and let them know you heard about them from Suzanna’s! Last weekends’ opening of the Farmer’s Market was a success! It was SO successful many of the vendors ran out of vegetables! Sam to the rescue! Sam, of Sam’s Country Porch, in front of Suzanna’s, had plenty of veggies! His corn on the cob is wonderful, just ask my son who ate three ears for dinner! Sam’s strawberries are in and his flowers are BEAUTIFUL! (Especially for Mother’s Day, hint, hint) Suzanna’s is also wedding central! Are you looking for interesting ideas for weddings? We have weddings on the brain, as Susie’s youngest daughter; my little sister has gotten engaged! We are gathering great ideas for all your wedding needs. Mason jars for flowers, a vintage bike with a basket for programs? We have got it all, even a wedding dress and an engagement ring if you are at the proposal stage! Some of our dealers and consigners have brought in new items as well. Jeff and Julia brought in a great green wicker lamp! Linda has some beautiful new pictures and a fun new red cabinet! Nancy has a cute little slipper chair in the office and a huge mirror next to the jewelry cabinet! Hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day, if we don’t see you and congrats to all the graduates this weekend! Next week be on the lookout for the newsletter a little earlier. We are going to try and get it sent on Wednesdays from now on, so you have time to plan your weekend! Thank you! Susie, Jenny and the Girls!
