Why, Suzanna's of course! Cinderella says so!
I know I am mixing up my fairy tales here, but mixing it up is what we do best! Decorating with antiques need not be fussy! It can be fun!
You can use aprons as art!
Or paint it all red!
Put a shelf on a table!
Or a mouse near your bed!
A pig as a step stool?
Or with flowers instead? Your only limit is what's in your head!
So make yourself Happy!
'Cause playful's fun too!
And remember what Cinderella said about her shoe!
We can help you add whimsy or serious too,
after all, we have unicorns
and Little Boy Blue!
Below is our weekly newsletter! Enjoy!
Good Morning! Lots to tell you about this week! There is so much going on all over the place! Don’t forget we still have tickets available for the Franklin Country Historic home tour going on this weekend! One of the only places in Raleigh to get tickets is Suzanna’s!! There is also a garden tour in Wake Forest this weekend! The tour is in celebration of Wake Forest’s Centennial and the Wake Forest Garden Club’s 85th birthday! The theme is “Timeless Inspiration” and will focus on North Main Street’s gardens. The tour will be Saturday, April 18th from 9 to 4 and the weather this weekend looks wonderful! In tandem with the tour, Elizabeth Newhouse will be having one of her famous sales at her home on North Main Street! She always outdoes herself and since you are a fan of Suzanna’s, you just might see some things you remember from the shop, decorating her yard and garden! Also in Wake Forest you can enjoy an afternoon of music on the grounds of the college from 1 to 4! Refreshments will be served along with an art sale featuring local artisans. For a complete list of all the gardens and activities please visit http://www.wfgardenclub.org. Since we are already having fun in Wake Forest we thought we would mention a new vintage shop that has opened up! GC5 Vintage and Gifts at 430 South White Street, Wake Forest, NC 27571 is so much fun! They carry new and vintage handbags, jewelry, furniture, glassware...a little bit of everything! They are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10 to 6, Sunday 1 to 6 and they are closed Monday! The neatest thing is they also have a meeting space available for clubs and groups! You have to go check it out and tell them Suzanna’s sent you! Also, this weekend marks the beginning of HERBFEST! Generally recognized as the largest herb and perennial festival East of the Mississippi! This year Herbfest starts on April 17th and goes through April 26th! This is a not to be missed tradition in Wake Forest. People plan their vacations around this festival and all of the activities it provides! Click here for more information! http://www.herbfest.net/index.php Then head to Suzanna’s for unusual containers to plant all your wonderful herbs and flowers! How about a shoe full of rosemary or a colander full of lemongrass? How about an enamel pot full of salad herbs for your windowsill? You provide the plant and Suzanna’s can find you a container. There is fun and whimsy all over the shop this weekend! See the blog for what I mean! Another fun site we have found is Yelp.com and Suzanna’s already has two reviews! Suzanna’s Antiques Tip of the Day! To remove those stubborn, cloudy stains at the bottom of glassware fill with water and drop in alka seltzer or denture tablets! Let bubble then rinse clean! See you at the shop! Susie and Jenny

Thank you! Susie and Jenny
Happy Good Friday morning to you! Hope those of you not at work are enjoying your day off! We do not have the day off, so come spend some time with us! We will be open Friday and Saturday but closed Sunday to spend time with our families! If you have family in town, bring them over! Mary Ann of Teas and Treats will be set up at Sam’s Country Porch on Saturday from 10 til 2 with all of her homemade goodies and she makes the best homemade items you have ever tasted! What better way to spend some time on Saturday enjoying the great weather, with teas and treats and antiquing all rolled into one? You know we get new items in every week and wow!! Check the blog for pictures! We have a new beautiful green hutch and a new yellow one! The picture of the yellow one did not come out, so believe me it’s beautiful! Tons of cute ice cream chair sets with unusual back designs came is as well! Gary and Teresa brought in a fun white outdoor set of four chairs that are so comfortable! We got in some great wrought iron end and side tables to add to your existing set! And a few small children’s chairs also came in, along with some new collectables! Come see what you can’t live without! Around town this weekend! A new shop called “Sprig” in Wake Forest is having their Open House/Grand Opening this Friday April 10th! They are a great “unique garden and gift shop, inspired by nature!” Miss Lisa will have some light refreshments, punch, and cookies for kids, wine and cheese for adults! All this will be held during Wake Forest’s Art After Hours....5-9pm! So after shopping with us in the afternoon, go relax with Miss Lisa and tell her Suzanna’s set you! Does anyone need a chicken coop? The Harts, some long time friends of the shop, have found the cutest ones, and are now selling them! They look just like little barns! And if you need chickens, we have some ideas on where you can get some of them too!! Amy from Cupcake Envy stopped by the shop today to let us know she is now holding cupcake decorating classes! Stop by the shop for a flyer or check out her website for more information! We still have one or two of the items from last week’s sale at the shop, so if there was something you were interested in please let us know! It may or may not still be here! Now that the better weather is upon us don’t forget to sign up for a spot at Suzanna’s Treasure Market! Any questions just call the shop! We are asking for impute if anyone is interested in a plant exchange or a craft supply exchange at the shop! We could make a fun day or evening of it, just let us know by next Saturday so we can schedule a day!! If you are traveling or not able to make it into the shop this weekend have a safe and happy Easter and we look forward to seeing you soon at Suzanna’s Antiques! Thanks Susie, Jenny and the Girls!
