Hello Friday!! If you are at all like me you are looking forward to this weekend! No rain, no wind, just sunny, hot days!! Time to implement all those ideas you got last weekend at the garden shows and the home tours. What better place than Suzanna’s Antiques to get you started? We have so much new merchandise in the shop, you will be amazed! Gary and Teresa brought in some beautiful new outdoor items, a porch swing, some new outdoor sets, some great metal gate or trellis pieces! Anything you need to add a little something to your yard! Jenny (me) and Susie got some WONDERFUL new outdoor dining and occasional sets. See the blog for pictures! There is a turquoise dining set with six chairs that is begging to go home with someone! A cute little white metal loveseat came in, along with a great green wicker loveseat and ottoman. There are more occasional chairs in various colors all over the place just waiting for that special spot on your porch or patio! Come and pick yours out this weekend! Now since you have all been waiting for them….Sam has his plants! Sam from Sam’s County Porch, located here at Suzanna’s Antiques, has brought in his plants and flowers! THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! Some of these pots are muti-plant pots with such an array of colors, it feels like and looks like summer is on the horizon!! He has Gerber daisies and primroses and ferns and snapdragons and larkspurs and so many others I cannot even begin to list them all! You really must come and see for yourselves! Your gardens will be the best on the block with the help of Suzanna’s and Sam’s! Sam is expecting to start bringing in his vegetables at the beginning of May!! I know you are as excited as I am for those fresh veggies! But if the sun is too bright for you and you need to check out the indoors…come on in!! We have sold some bigger pieces this past week, so you know what that means!! A whole new look on the inside! After all, when you move one piece why not move everything!! Hehehe! Linda has brought in a fun new farm table by the front door! A new loveseat came in and is hanging out in the library! Jeannie has a great new cabinet and a fun table in her booth! Jeff and Julia have the prettiest new hanging light in their booth, and Tracy was still sprucing up her booth when we left! I can only imagine the beautiful items she has brought in! Come and see for yourself what you can’t live without! We do have some fun things to share with you that are going on around town this weekend! Cat Angels Pet Adoption in Cary is having their April Charity Yard Sale. All the money raised is used to spay and neuter the cats and kittens. The sale is Saturday, April 25 from 8 - 12. They have lots of wonderful items including adult and children’s clothes, lots of toys, books, pictures, some furniture, lots of dust collectors (aka decorative items), kitchen stuff, and on and on. Any questions contact Barbra Terry brterry@nc.rr.com! One of our friends in Greensboro is having her Spring Open House this weekend! Back Shed Primitives is located at 2231 Alamance Church Road, Greensboro, NC 27406 (336)697-8904. The dates and times of their open house are Friday, April 24 from 10-6 and Saturday, April 25 from 10-4. Joining the ladies this weekend will be Janelle Larkin from Miss Nellie’s Primitives, Kim McEntree, and Marna Freeland and Kati Seamon of K & M Prims. Tell them Susie and Jenny sent you! A special hello to our Ohio readers!! The weather is great and it was fun talking to you! See you in October! For Sale Friday 4-17-09

Mirror, Mirror on the wall,
who's the fairest of them all?

Why, Suzanna's of course! Cinderella says so!

I know I am mixing up my fairy tales here, but mixing it up is what we do best! Decorating with antiques need not be fussy! It can be fun!

You can use aprons as art!

Or paint it all red!

Put a shelf on a table!

Or a mouse near your bed!

A pig as a step stool?

Or with flowers instead? Your only limit is what's in your head!

So make yourself Happy!

'Cause playful's fun too!

And remember what Cinderella said about her shoe!

We can help you add whimsy or serious too,

after all, we have unicorns

and Little Boy Blue!

Below is our weekly newsletter! Enjoy!

Good Morning! Lots to tell you about this week! There is so much going on all over the place! Don’t forget we still have tickets available for the Franklin Country Historic home tour going on this weekend! One of the only places in Raleigh to get tickets is Suzanna’s!! There is also a garden tour in Wake Forest this weekend! The tour is in celebration of Wake Forest’s Centennial and the Wake Forest Garden Club’s 85th birthday! The theme is “Timeless Inspiration” and will focus on North Main Street’s gardens. The tour will be Saturday, April 18th from 9 to 4 and the weather this weekend looks wonderful! In tandem with the tour, Elizabeth Newhouse will be having one of her famous sales at her home on North Main Street! She always outdoes herself and since you are a fan of Suzanna’s, you just might see some things you remember from the shop, decorating her yard and garden! Also in Wake Forest you can enjoy an afternoon of music on the grounds of the college from 1 to 4! Refreshments will be served along with an art sale featuring local artisans. For a complete list of all the gardens and activities please visit http://www.wfgardenclub.org. Since we are already having fun in Wake Forest we thought we would mention a new vintage shop that has opened up! GC5 Vintage and Gifts at 430 South White Street, Wake Forest, NC 27571 is so much fun! They carry new and vintage handbags, jewelry, furniture, glassware...a little bit of everything! They are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10 to 6, Sunday 1 to 6 and they are closed Monday! The neatest thing is they also have a meeting space available for clubs and groups! You have to go check it out and tell them Suzanna’s sent you! Also, this weekend marks the beginning of HERBFEST! Generally recognized as the largest herb and perennial festival East of the Mississippi! This year Herbfest starts on April 17th and goes through April 26th! This is a not to be missed tradition in Wake Forest. People plan their vacations around this festival and all of the activities it provides! Click here for more information! http://www.herbfest.net/index.php Then head to Suzanna’s for unusual containers to plant all your wonderful herbs and flowers! How about a shoe full of rosemary or a colander full of lemongrass? How about an enamel pot full of salad herbs for your windowsill? You provide the plant and Suzanna’s can find you a container. There is fun and whimsy all over the shop this weekend! See the blog for what I mean! Another fun site we have found is Yelp.com and Suzanna’s already has two reviews! Suzanna’s Antiques Tip of the Day! To remove those stubborn, cloudy stains at the bottom of glassware fill with water and drop in alka seltzer or denture tablets! Let bubble then rinse clean! See you at the shop! Susie and Jenny
