Weekly Newsletter!

Happy Wednesday! Hope you are all having a great week and enjoying this amazing weather! What a wonderful time to head to Suzanna’s! The shop is brimming with beautiful items for your home and yard! Suzanna’s Antiques is the ultimate in green living! Instead of buying new furniture without any history or character, come to Suzanna’s and buy a dresser that might have a great story! If it doesn’t Linda will make one up on the spot for you!! Hehehe! Or if you are building an outdoor pergola or gazebo, we have plenty of unusual and unique pieces you can use! There are columns and posts from old houses that have been torn down, great metal pieces to use across the front or sides, shutters you can turn into window boxes or even doors and windows that can be used however you want! The only limit is your imagination! Tracey brought in a great yellow tall cabinet perfect for storage in a kitchen, bedroom or craft room, and a cute pegboard unit that would be wonderful on a porch for gardening equipment! Gary and Teresa have a cute little ice cream set in white that is new to the yard this week, and a fun red wicker planter in their booth! Susie even brought in some fun metal boxes and baskets that would look great with your vegetable garden planted in them! Linda has a cute little green table and some beautiful artwork available in her booth along with some cute new vintage inspired aprons for mom or child! Our consigners have been hard at work bringing in new jewelry, game boards and glass wear for anywhere in your home! Come see what’s new! This weekend is full of fun things to do! Franklin County is having their 6th Annual Farm Tour with foods and crafts! Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th from 11:00 am til 5:00 pm there are farm tours available, a youth fishing rodeo, a photography contest and many other fun activities for you and your family to enjoy! For more information go to franklincountyfarmfresh.com ! In Raleigh there is the “Hen side the Beltline Tour”. A tour of some of Raleigh’s best chicken coops! Saturday from 10 to 4 rain or shine, learn about different breeds, different coops and what it takes to keep chickens an urban environment! Once you see how fun and easy it is, come to Suzanna’s and we can put you in contact with some coop builders and we’ll even check with Anna to see if she has a new set of hatchlings to start your own chicken coop! Talk about going green! We are in the process of updating our friend’s page on the Suzanna’s Antiques website. If you are interested in having your information on our site, please email me back what your business is and your contact information. We have everything from “Bruce’s Gutter Cleaning” at 919-435-7862 to Linda Doyle with Dream Decorating at 919-621-3425! We have Mary Kay, Avon, and Arbonne representatives, insurance people, upholstery, and cupcakes!! Whatever service you offer, let us know and we will try and include it! Sam of Sam’s Country Porch, here next to Suzanna’s Antiques, continues to bring in new vegetables and gorgeous plants weekly. Strawberries seem to be the most popular this week! Pink Saturday Mother's Day Weekend!

Happy Pink Saturday Mother's Day Weekend !! Come and find what you can't live with out, or what Mom can't live without!! But most importantly bring mom by Suzanna's and spend some time with her reminiscing about items she may have had in the past. Or items she remembers from her childhood! The most important thing is just to spend time with your mom!

Working with my mom at the shop is awesome! I am so lucky to be able to do something we both love together!

Love you Mom!

For Mother's Day!

Hello from Suzanna’s Antiques! Welcome to May! Hopefully all of you are ready for Mother’s Day this weekend. If not, head to Suzanna’s Antiques. We have gift certificates available in any denomination you need! Why not get Mom a great vintage purse to put the certificate in, or wrap it in a cute antique hanky or pin a great brooch onto it! Then bring her over to Suzanna’s on Sunday and spend some time helping her pick out that special item. What a great Mother’s Day! Susie and I spent some time this week in Warrenton, so there are lots of great new items in the shop. We found some cute vintage card games, some beautiful pictures and wonderful books all for your shopping pleasure! There are also some new dress forms, a fun old banana stand and an awesome metal shelf with baskets! On our travels we also stopped into a new shop right here in Raleigh. “Affordable Chic” is on the corner of Creedmoor Road and Lynn Road in the Hidden Valley Shopping center behind the gas station! This is a very cute shop with an eclectic mix of vendors with everything from monogrammed bags to antique wingback chairs. Please stop in and say “Hi” and let them know you heard about them from Suzanna’s! Last weekends’ opening of the Farmer’s Market was a success! It was SO successful many of the vendors ran out of vegetables! Sam to the rescue! Sam, of Sam’s Country Porch, in front of Suzanna’s, had plenty of veggies! His corn on the cob is wonderful, just ask my son who ate three ears for dinner! Sam’s strawberries are in and his flowers are BEAUTIFUL! (Especially for Mother’s Day, hint, hint) Suzanna’s is also wedding central! Are you looking for interesting ideas for weddings? We have weddings on the brain, as Susie’s youngest daughter; my little sister has gotten engaged! We are gathering great ideas for all your wedding needs. Mason jars for flowers, a vintage bike with a basket for programs? We have got it all, even a wedding dress and an engagement ring if you are at the proposal stage! Some of our dealers and consigners have brought in new items as well. Jeff and Julia brought in a great green wicker lamp! Linda has some beautiful new pictures and a fun new red cabinet! Nancy has a cute little slipper chair in the office and a huge mirror next to the jewelry cabinet! Hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day, if we don’t see you and congrats to all the graduates this weekend! Next week be on the lookout for the newsletter a little earlier. We are going to try and get it sent on Wednesdays from now on, so you have time to plan your weekend! Thank you! Susie, Jenny and the Girls!

Good Afternoon! This newsletter is coming to you a little early this week since there is a great activity tonight that we thought you all might like hearing about! Historic Downtown Hillsborough is having a “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” Ladies night out tonight, Thursday April 30th from 6-9pm. Join Mayor Tom Stevens and his wife while downtown businesses greet lady shoppers with flowers to build bouquets while flower supplies last! There will be great shopping specials, wine, hot teas, tasty goodies, truffles, chair massages and live music. Jeannie, who has her fabulous booth here at Suzanna’s, from Uniquities in Hillsborough will be participating! Guys can come too! There will be special locations open with free wings and games!! Something else we are all excited about are STRAWBERRIES! Sam of Sam’s Country Porch Antiques located just in front of Suzanna’s will start having fresh picked strawberries for sale this weekend! His strawberries, and in weeks to come fresh veggies; along with all of his beautiful plants are some of the best parts of summer! Sam will have vegetables available Monday thru Saturday under his canopy. We have beautiful pictures of some of his plants and flowers on the blog! Speaking of fresh vegetables, the North Raleigh Farmer’s Market is having their grand opening this weekend at Falls River. The market will run Saturdays from 8 to 12 and Wednesdays from 4 till 7. If you miss their market, don’t forget Sam’s is open Monday thru Saturday! This Saturday you can see the two story shopping cart at Falls River, courtesy of NC Department of Agriculture’s “Goodness Grows in NC” program. There will be a ribbon cutting at 11:00 am and “Grillzilla” will also be in attendance. For more information visit http://www.northraleighfarmersmarket.com/ . And finally, wait till you see some of the new items at Suzanna’s Antiques! A new red dresser came in with great lines, located in the kitchen area to showcase the fact that you can use furniture where ever you want, not just in traditional spaces! A beautiful new turquoise wardrobe graces Jeannie’s booth along with a cute standing pink lamp! Ray and Gloria have a beautiful globe lamp with hand painted roses on the glass in their booth. And Linda brought in a beautiful vanity with mirror that would look great in any bedroom! Remember last weekend when I told you Tracy was hard at work in her booth. She never disappoints! Tracy has some of the prettiest shabby chic items! And she puts thing together in such fun ways! Come see some of her embellished hand mirrors or shelves made from cigar boxes. There is something for everyone in her booth! She even brought in some great red bouncy chairs for the outdoors, along with a fleur de lies garden arch! Gary and Teresa brought in a whole new set of outdoor items! There is a fun yellow chaise lounge with matching kitty and some cute birdhouses for your yard! Jeff and Julia have marked down some items in their booth! The beautiful precious stone world map featured on the blog a few weeks ago is on special! Come in and see what you can’t live without! Thanks Susie, Jenny and the girls!
