Suzanna's Antiques

Hey ya’ll! Hope everyone has had a great week so far! This weather has been wonderful and even with the clouds today, we do need the rain!! With this weather, has the fall decorating bug bitten you yet? If not, head to Suzanna’s Antiques for inspiration! Sam of The County Porch has gotten in some beautiful mums, in all colors to decorate your front porch, and Suzanna’s has the merchandise to help you decorate the rest of the house! What about a beautiful bench for your entry way? This is the ultimate in green recycling; it USED to be a bed! Or an amazing buffet….the picture I have does not do this piece justice! Glass knobs, the most wonderful white and green chippy paint, two doors…I could go on and on! This piece will not be around for long! Come make sure it goes to the right home. We have a whole children’s bedroom set in a creamy white finish with a four poster twin bed, perfect for your little princess! And every princess’ room needs a chandelier right? How about one with fun turquoise bulbs? There is also a beautiful heavy brass chandelier for your special room or hallway. Speaking of your special rooms, have you ever thought about how you can upgrade the look of a room just by switching out the hardware? In the kitchen you can add old world charm by changing out your old cabinet knobs and drawer pulls for crystal knobs. Change the knobs on your pantry doors for a vintage set of door knobs. Or use some vintage door knobs in unusual ways. Hang a picture from a ribbon from a door knob. Or line up a set of door knobs on your bedroom wall and hang your jewelry from them. The hardware possibilities are endless and Suzanna’s Antiques has an almost endless supply of hardware! We have moved all the hardware to a permanent location outside of the office. Come pick out something to update your look! It's time to hit the road for an antiquing day trip! Destination....Henderson, NC. Just a short drive from Raleigh, hit Capital Boulevard and go north. You'll pass through Wake Forest, Youngsville, Franklinton, and Kittrell before you get to the Raleigh Road exit. This is where the fun begins! First stop, Indoor Flea Market at 2726 Raleigh Road. You never know what you will find here. Dealers rent space in the store, so you should get a good variety! Next stop, Downtown Antiques at 207 S. Garnet Street. Just get back on Raleigh Road (left out of the parking lot) and go until you intersect with Garnet Street. Take a right and start looking. Downtown Henderson is a fun place to stroll through. Is it lunchtime yet? George's Restaurant is at 210 N. Garnet Street. I hear their food is yummy! Stop in and see Michelle and Steve at Back Seat Betty's at 117 Horner Street (just off of Garnet Street) for fun vintage clothes, rhinestone earrings and retro furnishings. It's not time to go home yet. A detour to Highway 39 on the way home will take you through Epsom. Johnnie Woodard will greet you at Oldies but Goodies.
